The Uki Uki Demo Beta

When I first started game development, I had many projects that didn't get finished or even a demo. It was a long mental struggle to finish a project without deleting it or throwing it away.

One day, I had the idea for a magical girl game. I was inspired by Doki Doki Literature Club, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and many different artists from over the years. Setsuna was born from an idea for a character loosely based on my own personality and experiences in life. The other magical girls were based on friends I've made over the years, and are conglomerations of them. 

Uki Uki Magical Girls finally having the demo release, even a rough version of it, means so much to me and many others. We've finally got a project out there, and it feels great! The world can see this genius creation and experience the first chapter of an amazing and thrilling story. I had been in a very dark place when I started this project, because it was mostly a vent about how cruel the real world is. Magical girls as a whole are a metaphor for those who are sensitive and empathetic, which is why I included the piece of lore that men can also be "magical girls". These empathetic people often help others even if it harms themselves. Hitomi heals everyone because she acts as a metaphor for therapy, when someone tells you how to properly manage stress and how to cleanse your energy as an empath. Water and gardening are actually really cleansing and cathartic things for empaths to do. We take on destruction and try to leave creation. 

I can't wait for everyone to see this very beautiful and intricate story that so many of us are working on together because it has much deeper meaning than just "magical girls save the day!". 

I'm so thankful to everyone volunteering and I'm thankful for everyone playing, and I'm thankful for you, reader. I'm so excited to polish this gem and release even more story!
